Throughout the year there are four early morning Intensives conducted Monday to Thursday for two consecutive weeks.
These Intensives run for two-and-a-half hours (6.30- 9.00am) and include yogasana and pranayama. Intensives reference a different syllabus to the Practitioner program because the Intensive schedule coincides with the Institute's programs for teachers, including Preliminary Teacher Training and the Professional Development Program for qualified teachers.
Students attending Intensives often experience a deepening committment to practice because the longer sessions (2 1/2 hours) over 4 or 8 days support greater integration of the practice experience. In this way, Intensives provide evidence to a student of the value and reality of practice based learning.
Through Intensives students also become involved in a more diverse range of yogasana and pranayama.
Early morning Intensives are open to students of the Institute who have completed 3 terms in the Foundation practitioner program. All Developing, Established and Maturing Practitioners are encouraged to enrol. With negotiation, these Intensives may be open to visiting Iyengar Yoga practitioners.
